Car rental Crete, Crete

Automatic or manual transmission when renting a car in Crete?

Crete is one of those must-see places in the Mediterranean. In fact, it is the most popular of the Greek Islands and it has many tourist spots. Some people may find walking the streets of Crete an enjoyable experience, alongside crowds and different busy establishments, but there might be some who would like get away from city centers and travel to the blue clean beaches and green rough mountains with the graphical villages.

That’s why there are options to choose from at this wonderful tourist destination like renting a car. Among many options, one can choose between an automatic or a manual transmission. Most cars today in the rental market are usually automatic, but that doesn’t mean that manual transmission cars are not as good. There’s really no argument about them. Renting a manual or an automatic car is ultimately up to the person, whichever he or she prefers. If a driver is used to driving a stick shift, then it’s better to stick with it (pun definitely intended).

In the same way of a manual transmission, the automatic transmission’s main work is to let the locomotive to function in its fine variety of speeds while given that a varied choice of output speeds. Drivers who are used to manual transmission have acquired certain idiosyncrasies that might hinder their driving of an automatic transmission car. If a person has been driving automatic transmission cars, then obviously he or she should rent one. Being a tourist means that one isn’t really familiar with the place one is visiting. The least one could do is to make oneself comfortable.

Here are some fundamentals upon consideration

Consider the power:

Without a transmission, cars would be limited to one gear ratio, and that ratio would have to be selected to allow the car to travel at the desired top speed. If you need the maximum power from your rental car, going with a manual transmission vs. an automatic is probable your best choice. Although many new automatic transmissions, like CVT transmissions, or 5-speed automatic transmissions permit for brilliant acceleration.

Define if Petrol economy is a problem:

If you rent a manual transmission is perhaps your finest bet, though it is not the only choice.

New cars with automatics transmission sometimes have a better petrol consuming rating than the same rental car armed with a manual. At the end of the story some vehicles get better/more kilometres on a high way with an automatic compared to the manual. The same happens on a busy road in the city centre of Heraklion or Chania, automatically hire cars are save a significant amount of fuel, rather than changing gear up and down on manuals.

But most of all identify your Needs:

If you are planning for long distances on the Cretan island or traveling inside full of activity small road in the city center of Heraklion go for an automatic car rental in Heraklion. If you are traveling to mountain roads and traditional villages rent a manual car in Crete.

But most of all try to enjoy your amazing ride in Crete, IT’S UP TO YOU!
